The following houses had no names
2,   Foundry Street

26, Greengate Street
32, Rawlinson Street
2,  Thwaite Street
23, Hawcoat

Thanks to research on this by John Watts the following information has come to light. Quoted in an email to me by John Watts who is currently writing a book about Barrow, he says

"2 Foundry Street became The Riflemans 24 & 26 Greengate became The Union Tavern 23 Hawcoat became The Bay Horse But what about 2 Thwaite Street?  A beer seller is listed as living there in 1886 and probably later. A recent photograph taken while the house was being renovated shows the cement rendering removed from the end wall in Whitehead Street with a Case's advertising sign painted on it. Would Case's have bothered for a pub with no name? Surely the house must have been part of Case's Brewery estate. Any thoughts would be welcome. My book is almost ready for publication, don't forget to put it on your Christmas List!"                                      Regards - John Watts
